What is the scope of MBA in biotech and is it given more preferrence than MBA after engineering?

MBA in Biotechnology has very good career prospects. However job placement depends on the reputation of the institute. It is true, that MBA with Degree in Engineering is currently the most sought after combination as far as jobs are concern. Nevertheless the reputation of the institute from where you are doing MBA plays the main role.

CAT is one of the most competitive MBA entrance exam in our country. Therefore, I would say you have to focus really hard on your basics to crack the CAT exam. MBA Biotechnology course make students capable enough to deal with biotech industry’s ethical, regulatory and business development issues. However, MBA Biotechnology course is present in a very few colleges in India. This is due to the fact that, this is a relatively new specialization as compared to other specializations in MBA program.
